Hang on to your hats folks - there is a LOT going on this month for SchoolBOX! Four events, sprinkled throughout October, all tons of fun and all in support of a wonderful cause. Doesn't get much better than that, eh?!
Hard to believe it's been TEN years since this event first started... It's still one of the best and brightest events of the years for SchoolBOX.
The first Latin Fiesta took place in 2006 and helped kickstart the SchoolBOX movement. 10 years ago, SchoolBOX started handing out pencils and notebooks and this year we have supported 16,674 students and teachers in 89 communities across Nicaragua.
This year's fiesta will be extra special, as SchoolBOX Director, Ronald Chavarria, will be coming all the way from Nicaragua.
Join us for a lively night of salsa dancing, amazing music and delicious food! Ole!
Wednesday October 7 - 10am-11am Equator Cafe & Roastery in Almonte
Meet Ronald Chavarria, SchoolBOX Director of Operations in Nicaragua. Learn about SchoolBOX’s latest projects to “make education possible”...including EQUATOR SCHOOL #2! Tour of the roastery to follow.
Sunday October 18 - 12pm-9pm Canadian Golf and Country Club
The event is a best ball, 18 hole format or 9 hole format. There will be a closest to the pin contest, a longest drive contest, and lots of prizes. The day will be capped off with a delicious dinner.
Saturday October 24 - 6pm-1am Delta Ottawa City Centre
Over the past two years, the Amazing People Gala has raised nearly $150,000 for SchoolBOX and The Hera Mission of Canada. This has built 4 CTV Amazing People Gala schools with SchoolBOX and the Amazing People Resource Centre in Asembo Bay, Kenya with The Hera Mission of Canada.
Be prepared for an evening full of laughter, tears and inspirational stories surrounded by Amazing People and inspirational leaders from the Ottawa Area.
